ABOUT PORCHFEST

An excellent source of locally-grown music since 2017, Modesto Porchfest is a collection of free, independent porch parties made possible by the crowd-sourced connection between local musicians and porch hosts! On the afternoon of May 17, 2026, the La Loma, College, and Downtown neighborhoods of Modesto become home to pop-up “stages” hosted on porches, patios, and driveways.

Whether it’s your first or tenth Porchfest, here are the Porchfest Fast Facts you need to know to enjoy this day of community, connection, creativity, and collaboration…

  • BRING THE WHOLE CREW: Porchfest is a family-friendly event! Organizers help ensure bands play only family-friendly, neighborhood-appropriate set lists.

  • GET THE LAY OF THE LAND: Porchfest organizers help connect porch hosts and musicians to build a schedule and map of performances throughout the neighborhoods. Organizers also arrange porta-potties and access to bathrooms in public parks within the footprint.

  • WHEELS RECOMMENDED: There’s a lot to see across the La Loma, College, and Downtown neighborhoods. Consider using bicycles to explore, visiting as many porch stages as you can! Just remember to wear a helmet and obey traffic laws!

  • SUPPORT ARTISTS: Porchfest is all about mutual support and showing our community’s love of the arts! Artists may provide a tip jar, a QR code, or even have merchandise for sale. So channel your appreciation for this no-cost event into supporting the artists who make it possible through tips and purchases!

  • “PACK IN, PACK OUT”: Bring blankets or lawn chairs for seating! Apply sunscreen often, and stay hydrated! Enjoy food at local cafés and restaurants, from food trucks invited by porch hosts, or pack a picnic lunch from home! But please ensure that you pick up all your garbage – you are in someone’s front yard!

  • THE FINE PRINT: All City of Modesto ordinances regarding dogs, alcohol, and unruly behavior apply during Porchfest. We are grateful that porch hosts invite us onto their private property. To keep Porchfest going, please be a good neighbor. Keep Modesto clean, travel safely between porches, and be mindful!

We can’t wait to see you at Modesto Porchfest 2026!
